Thanks!

You have to make sure the emulators themselves are configured and that the launch parameters are correct. Different emulators have different ways of launching games from the command line. For the model 2 emulator, you need to have the rom folder set in the EMULATOR.INI file and use [ROMBASE] as the launch parameter. Fusion 3.51 works fine for me just using "[ROMFILE]" as the launch parameter, haven't tried the latest version. Don't have the other emulators you mentioned on hand but it'd probably be something similar.
First off, I want to say that Romshelf is awesome. After searching for an easy to use frontend, I was so happy to find RS. So far, it works pretty dang well!
Buuuuuuuuuuut, I do have a problem or few. So far only my SNES emu (I use snes9x) is the only emulator that will load along with the selected rom.
My other emulators (KEGA Fusion (for Genesis and 32X use), Model 2, WinKawaks for Neo-Geo, VirtuaNES) will load via the frontend, but the rom selected won't be loaded as the emu starts up.
Anyway to fix this? Should I use different emulators? Any tips will help! Thanks!
Just wanted to take the time to tell you how awesome Romshelf is! You've breathed new life into my HTPC and I find myself playing my emulators much more than before since it's so easy now. I though about using Hyperspin but it is WAY too complicated and I don't have that kind of time to be tinkering with a frontend. I just wanted to setup and go... Thanks!
The reason they didn't turn out as LEGOs in today's Blockland was because Badspot failed to communicate with the LEGO Company. They decided to go on with their own idea.
Just discovered this frontend, would like to say I enjoy it very much - Is this still being updated, I'd love to see a version that plays video snaps, otherwise, thanks!
You do know that all the gameplay elements are still there? If the buggy and ugly maps are what made Blockland fun for you, why don't you go play Age Of Time? You can play Blockland maps on that game you know.
The fact that people hork to this and all the "hot girl" threads on bl forums is just sad. None of those, or even this image, really count as "porn". Everyone has nipples. Get over it.
@Zach - inside your 'data' folder, you can find a series of .ogg files used in the Perrenial game, as well as sound effects, etc. You could listen to these files using a program such as Audacity. Also, you could replace the music in the folder or add your own. If you want to play your own music in the game, just modify the .map files of the map you want to play the music, and replace the first line with 'MUSIC [your music in the same directory].ogg'
Funny. All your .tmx files are written in an XML format. Coordinates for the tiles, I presume? Well, It's fairly easy to mod, which is a good thing. Maybe I could add my own custom level sometime in the future when the Completed Version comes out.
Also, very small glitch (I don't know if it's intended). The sand blocks found on the beach, which can be moved with the shovel, would occasionally not disappear when I used the shovel. Also, using the shovel on some parts of the sand can cause the player to phase into the blocks. I don't know if this was meant, or anything else. Just observing.
"What's wrong with EVE Online [it's not the game I, as the author would choose to play, so you shouldn't either. In fact you're a bad person if you enjoy it!]" ..... "Standard fanboys defen[s]e ....Games are allowed to be boring for 10 minutes..." So who decides which game is boring, and for how long? Why not just say "I tried it. It wasn't for me."
So... ummm what's with all the hate from the non-EVE fans? As a non-Mass Effect 2 fan (loved 1, hated 2) I don't think less of those who loved it. Good for them! It's a game that they enjoyed! I'll never understand why, however. And I don't care to. So just man up, let your balls drop, and accept the fact that other people might find things fun that you have no interest in and will never understand. So... how did my folks phrase that when I was young... oh right. "Oh, grow up."
Hey Badspot, I've been using romshelf for a while on broken laptop that i turned into an htpc. Every emulator ive downloaded has worked so far. Except now I'm trying to get dreamcast working with nullDC. There was a dreamcast spot buit in there so I just used the neo geo one. It doesn't boot the .cdi's though. Do you know anyway to get it to work. I've got "[ROMFILE]" in there. and file type .cdi. It lists the files but when i try it nullDC boots up but doesn't load the game
The default dead zone is 40%, you can adjust it by editing the decimal values in the JOYAXIS lines in playerA.cfg. I suppose it's a tradeoff between responsiveness and accidental input. Might also be worse on worn controllers (mine is fairly new).
down button seems a bit too sensitivity on the nose dive block breaker move. I'm busting blocks more by accident than on purpose. (using xbox 360 usb controller)
if you look closely on the top right banner on the website about blockland you'll notice that it says 0% off !TODAY ONLY!. that means that technically today is the only day you have to pay full price. every other day there's a discount :P i know its just a joke but still i had to point that out
I played years ago and stopped because I was interested in the MMO economy but not PVP. Once you get far enough along you cannot really progress any further without venturing into 0 sec space or joining a corp. I want to interact with real people economically in a game but I don't want to cope with headsets and social requirements. If I play with real people it will be with people I know in real life. These were the frustrations I felt when I left.
I am now a little interested in returning but not if I have to start from scratch.
